Acrylic Painting  | Seascapes with Palette Knife and Brush

WORKSHOP DATE TIME LOCATION
Acrylic Painting
Seascapes
Thursday 7 March 10am to 4pm The Coghill Centre,
Coghill Street, Whitianga

Focusing on colour, light and the movement of water, you’ll work from an image of the beach/sea that you have chosen, to develop a vibrant painting (or series of studies). You will be shown ways to use different tools, develop new techniques and explore a variety of artistic styles to discover a fresh way to express the subject and reveal new layers of creativity within you. There will be full guidance and support from your tutor, including colour-mixing demonstrations, technical assistance and examples of ways to approach this subject. Class size is relatively small to ensure a great deal of one-on-one tuition. Some painting experience with acrylics will be useful, although this workshop caters for all skill levels.

Art materials provided: medium-size canvas, paints and a selection of brushes and palette knives for each person. Participants may bring extra paints and their own brushes/tools if desired, and additional canvases/boards to work on more studies or a second painting.
